OBJECTIVE

 

To ensure that there shall be non-discrimination in the admissions process and in all aspects of service delivery relative to Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) programs.

POLICY

 

WWRC shall engage its Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) partners, determine consumer eligibility for services, conduct established admissions processes, and implement its service delivery system consistent with federal VR regulations and in a manner that is non-discriminatory, both real and perceived.

    • No duration of residence requirement shall be imposed that excludes from services any U.S. citizen (or non-citizen who is legally eligible to work in the U.S.) who is present in Virginia 
    • No applicant or group of applicants shall be excluded or found ineligible solely on the basis of the type of disability
    • Eligibility requirements shall be applied without regard to race, sex, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, or political affiliation of the applicant 
    • Eligibility requirements shall be applied without regard to the particular service needs or anticipated cost of the services required by an applicant or the income level of an applicant or applicant's family.  However, the individual is subject to the DARS consumer financial participation policy.
